Bypassing Google Redirect to local search

Normally, Google set a cookie to save your local settings. When you enter into your browser, you get redirected to for example a German language interface with preferred search results in your local language. I’m automatically redirected to my iGoogle interface. But in some cases, I want the official google (not only for viewing the latest Google Doodle).

To avoid this, you have three options:

  • Click on the button “Google in English” at the bottom of your window.

This will also have the same effect as possibility three and ignores all set cookies.

  • Delete your cookies.

Will solve the problem once, the next time you’ll get redirected again.

The ncr stands for “no cookie redirect” and will ignore set cookies.
